lyrics
Have you seen my brother? Has he come this way?
We looked out for one another, now he ran away
In Devermore upon the sea
In the most boring part of the land
My brother as well as me
We lived our lives, like our ancestors had
„Nothing ever happens here“
Something like that, is what he would say,
Nothing to see or to hear
His restless heart, it drove him away.
Have you seen my brother? Has he come this way?
We looked out for one another, now he ran away
Oh and all of this time, I have been trying to find
And all of this time, there hasn’t been a damn sign
When we realized he wasn’t there
An entire night had since had passed by
I went to search him everywhere
And I vowed not to rest, until he’s by my side
His journey, as well as mine
It took us so far away from our home
When I finally came across a sign
He was in danger, as I should have known
Have you seen my brother? Has he come this way?
We looked out for one another, now he ran away
Oh and all of this time, I have been trying to find
And all of this time, there hasn’t been a damn sign
I came across an old oaken tree
Embers and ash were amongst its roots
In a tavern not too far away
I met a recruiter without his recruits
Boasting how his men fought and died
While he was drinking and feasting away
The promise of fame made them blind
Just like the boy earlier that day
When I found my brother on the 32nd day
Wish I found someone other, that had died that day
And I laid my brother down into the ground
We shall see one another when I come around
Oh and I write these lines, to bear witness of his demise
And if you come by, I hope it will open your eyes
